  • Dr Kavi Deo

    Clinic Director

    BSc (Human Anatomy) MBChB FRNZCGP

    Kavi was born in Christchurch and his family originates from Fiji. He completed his medical degree through The University of Auckland.

    Having worked in Grey Lynn for over 5 years he enjoys the relationship he has with his patients ā€“ many of them inter-generational.

    He has training in anatomy, radiology, musculoskeletal medicine, cosmetic medicine and is involved in training new GPā€™s.

    Kavi is experienced in a range of minor surgical procedures offered through Grey Lynn Family Medical Centre.

  • Dr Neil Hefford

    MBChB FRNZCGP

    Neil graduated from Auckland Medical School in 1985 and founded the practice in 1991 and many of his patients have been with him since. He has a particular interest in Health Policy, integrated care, and the well-being of our local community.

    In June 2022 Neil stepped back from managing the practice but continue on in his clinical role as a GP with over 30 years of experience.

  • Dr Susan Zussman

    MBChB FRNZCGP

    Susan studied medicine in the UK and moved to New Zealand in 1991. She enjoys all aspects of General Practice with special interests in childrenā€™s health, womenā€™s health and preventative health care.

    She values working alongside the dedicated team at GLFMC and the strong and enduring relationships that have been built with the individuals and families who we care for.

  • Dr Anthony Dewan

    MBChB

    Anthony was born and raised in South Auckland and is of Tongan and Fijian Indian descent.

    He completed his medical degree at The University of Auckland in 2014.

    Anthony enjoys all aspects of General Practice with a particular interest in Pacific Health and improving health outcomes for the wider community.

    Anthony has been involved in teaching and education and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer General Practice and Primary Healthcare at the University of Auckland.

  • Dr Adrienne Morales

    BSc MBChB PGDip Obstetrics and Medical Gynaecology

    Adrienne was born in the Philippines and raised in Auckland. She completed her medical degree at The University of Otago in 2018 and worked in Hawkeā€™s Bay before moving back to Auckland in 2022.

    Adrienne has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Obstetrics and Medical Gynaecology and is currently working towards completing her GP and Urgent Care Fellowships.

  • Dr Jake Benson

    MBChB (GP Registrar - RNZCGP)

    Jake was born in Auckland and completed his medical degree at The University of Auckland in 2019.

    He spent the first few years of medical training in Auckland and then moved south, eventually settling in Rotorua where he worked his first few years as a doctor.

    Jake is excited to work and learn alongside the wider community that GLFMC cares for. He is most excited to build relationships and to take a holistic approach to helping patients on their journey to optimal health and well-being.

  • Vicky Maiava

    Registered Nurse (Manager)

    Vicky is of Samoan and Maori decent and has a deep understanding of the health and wellbeing needs of our wider community.

    She brings with her over 20 years of clinical experience in across New Zealand. Vicky has a passion for equitable healthcare and is competent in a range of practical procedures.

  • Elizabeth (Liz) Grundy

    Registered Nurse

    Liz grew up in Northland and recently returned to NZ after living in Melbourne. She has experience in Hospital & Community Addiction Nursing. She is excited to return to Primary Care as she is passionate about preventative Healthcare and advocating for her patients needs.

  • Leah Dunkerton

    Registered Nurse

    Leah was born and raised in Whanganui and has returned to Aotearoa after living in Melbourne/Naarm for the past 8 years. Being new to Auckland, Leah is grateful to be working at Grey Lynn Family Medical Centre and feels privileged to be a part of such a close-nit community.

    Leah is passionate about all aspects of primary healthcare. Leah enjoys having the opportunity to support patients along their health journey holistically with a goal help them achieve their best possible health care outcomes.

  • Alley Zhao

    Registered Nurse

    Alley joined our team in early 2024. She bring with her over 15 years of nursing experience and has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Nursing through AUT.

    Alley originates from China and is competent in translating languages in verbal and written format between English and Mandarin.

  • Anna Crawley

    Health Coach

    Anna joined our team in May 2022. Enrolled patients are referred directly to her from our GPā€™s and nurses.

    Anna provides patient centered support, motivation and guidance to develop the knowledge, skills and confidence in patients to achieve their health and well being goals.

  • Tahlia Failauga

    Health Navigator ā€“ Kaimanaaki

    Tahlia was born in Auckland and raised in American Samoa for most of her life. She graduated from Auckland Univsersity of Technology with a degree in Paramedicine.

    Tahlia worked alongside COVID Healthline for 2 years throughout the pandemic. During her university studies, she worked as a support worker with NZCare Disability and volunteered for St John Ambulance.

    She has experience in the community and is passionate about achieving better health outcomes for Maori and Pacific communities.

    Helen has a broad range of clinical and non clinical experience. She will be starting with Grey Lynn Family Medical Centre from early May 2024.
